New York City, New York. USA
Archer is a collection of eight independently owned boutique hotels, located across four corners of the United States; (Austin TX, Burlington MA, Falls Church VA, Florham Park NJ, Napa CA, New York NY, Redmond WA & Tysons VA).
Based on the premise that a hotel should be "more than a place to stay," Archer provides ambience-rich, design-inspired accommodation with a focus on personal, sincere service. Each hotel offers a unique vibe, a house art collection and a host of mood-brightening moments.
Archer New York sits across 22 stories in midtown Manhattan, enjoying goosebump views of the Empire State building, and close access to the Theatre District, Bryant Park and Times Square.
180 thoughtfully appointed guest rooms welcome travelers with floor-to-ceiling windows, luxury bedding and bespoke design. Hotel amenities include the brilliant Spyglass Rooftop Bar and locals' favorite AKB, hotel bar.
Archer's service philosophy focuses on surprising guests and making them smile. Weary travelers are welcomed to their room with silver trays sporting complimentary FIJI water, salted caramels and a heartfelt message. A rotation of locally curated turndown treats creates an additional sweet surprise before bedtime, and guests worried about disheveled footwear love the complimentary overnight shoeshine!
Indeed, it's this resounding pursuit of excellence that shaped the Archer's TV system implementation project.
Wanting to avoid the purchase and installation of a system that wasn't 100% right, Archer created a 'golden room,' a concept that enabled the implementation of one Apple TV in a designated guest room, offering guests and stakeholders the chance to meticulously test and review the system.
Reviews were positive, stakeholders were impressed, and ROOMNET was invited to complete the implementation, unleashing super-powered Apple TV in the hotel's 180 rooms.
The new system was delivered over the property's cat-5 network and integrated with Archer's existing Direct TV channel line-up, featuring 62 channels. These were placed within a genre-based delivery system, enabling the quick and intuitive choosing of channels by category.
Guests wishing to enjoy the streaming experience have access to a series of services (such as Netflix, Disney, Hulu etc.) via a tailored line-up of apps on the Apple TV's interface.
Other services available to Archer's spoilt-for choice-guests include downloadable content via Apple's app store (24,000+ available apps, Apple users only), a hotel directory service offering branded information pages and QR based booking vehicles, and an automatic cleardown service, resetting the Apple box to a virgin state, and clearing down all guest data and user credentials upon check-out.
