Pimlico, London, UK
The family-run Eccleston Square Hotel sits within a gorgeous Grade II listed Georgian townhouse on an idyllic residential square in central London.
The luxury boutique property boasts a best of both worlds location, enjoying the quiet, residential atmosphere of the Pimlico district, yet close to Victoria Station’s transport hub — and a scenic stroll to several iconic locations (including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, and the Houses of Parliament).
Recognised as one of the best boutique hotels in London, Eccleston Square sets itself apart via a carefully crafted personalised service. Central to this is the provision of an industry-leading technology experience.
This exists on two levels:
What the guest can see — intuitive, cutting-edge technologies such as Smartglass bathroom walls, Hästens massage beds, super-fast Wi-Fi, and powered curtains.
What the guest can’t see — invisible technology such as the highly sophisticated building and energy management system, designed to silently optimise guest comfort.
Eccleston Square is synonymous with high-tech luxury, it’s the ultimate smart hotel for tech lovers. It's been referred to as London’s Bou”tech” hotel, it’s a technophile’s haven...
Having been an early adopter of Google's Chromecast technology — enabling the guest to cast their own content on the in-room TV — Eccleston’s guest room entertainment offering definitely ticked a few boxes. However, for London’s Bou tech hotel, that wasn’t quite good enough...
Step forward ROOMNET’s Apple TV for hotels platform.
ROOMNET TV looks, feels, and performs in the exactly same way as a standard Apple TV, but provides additional software integrated with the device, allowing it to thrive in a hospitality environment. This allows guests to enjoy the same intuitive, immersive experience they receive at home, via native apps directly accessible on the TV. It also provides choice, with guests able to access and/or download any of the 12,000+ apps available on tvOS.
Apple TV also offers class-leading power and performance, offering intuitive and fast navigation and a TV experience just like at home.
ROOMNET worked with Eccleston Square to deliver Apple TVs into the property's 39 rooms. These were self-installed via a QR-based self-installation method, supported by ROOMNET's technical team.
Eccleston understand the importance of providing an apps-based TV experience to cater for the streaming generation, but also recognise the importance of complementing this with a live TV service — ensuring the provision of terrestrial TV for every guest and every occasion. This was provided via ROOMNET's genre-based delivery system, presented as a seried of apps within 'TV app' on the TV interface, and offering guests quick, modern, and easy access to live TV channels.
Eccleston's marketing team took full advantage of the design possibilities afforded by ROOMNET's proprietary hotel app, which offers fully customisable information pages, including static images and video content. This content educates and informs guests, advertises the hotel's services and waves goodbye to paper-based hotel compendiums.
Prominently displayed QR codes facilitate communication with the hotel's staff, offering a direct route to WhatsApp and the hotel's concierge service. Making things easy, making things happen...
