South Ari Atoll, Republic of Maldives
Establishd in 2015 by parent company, Deep Blue Private Ltd, Pulse Hotels & Resorts' mission is "to take holiday experiences to the next level."
Owner of several travel & transport companies, including the Maldivian domestic airline, Manta Air, Dhalalu airport, and luxury boat design operator, Eagle Marine, Pulse operate three luxury resorts - The Nautilus, Kandima and Nova (look out for Avalon Maldives, opening soon!).
NOVA Maldives is situated within the South Ari Atoll, a short but scenic seaplane flight north of Maldives capital, Male.
The five-star luxury resort is renowned for its abundant marine wildlife and offers one of the best diving and snorkelling experiences in the Maldives (dry wildlife is also plentiful, due to the resort's biolithic design principle).
76 villas welcome travellers looking for the ultimate marine adventure, with each accommodation boasting king-sized beds, rainfall showers, high-speed internet and, in line with the island's steadfast commitment to sustainability, plastic-free and refillable luxury organic bath amenities.
Dining options are plentiful, and include a main restaurant Soul Kitchen, a speciality grill Flames and the spectacular overwater Teppanyaki restaurant, Mizu. Guests can unwind amidst the beachy vibes of Wink, or sip on a cocktail or two at the Solis pool bar.
Watersports centre Aquaholics delivers a bounty of ocean-based fun, with a comprehensive list of underwater and overwater activities: snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking, jet-ski safaris, dolphin cruises, to name just a few.
Those that fancy time away from the ocean can opt for a bit of pampering at the Eskape Spa, a session in the state-of-the-art gym or even a kickaround or knockabout on the island's astroturf pitch.
Whatever the situation, the NOVA guest will enjoy a soulful vibe. NOVA embodies warmth, joy, and soul, and invites guests to spark joy, and connect with their surroundings. The result is an impossibly laid-back experience, where days are filled with peace, tranquility, and soulful moments.
NOVA's targeting of Millennial guests mandated the provision of a modern TV system, allowing users to access their own content on streaming apps such as Netflix, Prime and YouTube.
Additionally, NOVA wwere looking for a system that would reflect the island's laid-back vibe. This called for an easy to operate, responsive and stress-free interface, offering intuitive navigation and, critically, performance that would be expected in a home environment.
Home environment performance? what is that?!
Perhaps the main component of a home-away-from-home TV experience is the housing of streaming apps directly on the TV - not on the guest's smart device. This direct access provides simpler, quicker, more reliable access to a guest's content and importantly, offers a TV experience, just like at home.
ROOMNET's Apple TV for hotels ticked all the boxes, offering - thanks to the A15 Bionic chip - lightning fast performance and direct access to apps on the in-room TV.
ROOMNET worked with NOVA's IT team to facilitate the self-installation of 78 Apple TVs across the island's TV estate. Each Apple TV was remotely onboarded with ROOMNET's hotel app, allowing NOVA's marketing team to design and upload a series of branded information pages, including QR-based restaurant menus, and photos & videos of the island and its amenities.
A number of local and international channels were filtered into a genre-based delivery system, available via ROOMNET's TV app. This allows easy, intuitive navigation through a categorised linear channel line-up.
NOVA curated a portfolio of the most popular streaming apps to sit prominently within Apple TV's interface; addtional apps can be downloaded by guests for the duration of their.
