Jackson Hole, Wyoming. USA
Situated in the heart of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the Wort Hotel offers luxury, boutique accommodation and sweeping views of the majestic Grand Tetons.
A proud member of the prestigious Historic Hotels of America, the Tudor style property was built by brothers John and Jess Wort in 1941. Its 55uniquely decorated guestrooms boast custom-made furniture, original western artand offer an intoxicating blend of historic charm and contemporary luxury.
Wild West lovers can choose from one of five western style suites, including the 850 sq. ft Silver Dollar Suite, featuring a jacuzzi and an authentic recreation of the iconic Silver Dollar Bar
The Western theme continues in the hotel’s two eateries, the SilverDollar Grill, and the more informal Silver Dollar Bar - home to a packed schedule of live music.
Five dedicated event spaces are set across 4,000 square feet and offer state of the art A/V equipment, ideal for business function, weddings and parties.
Silver Dollar Inc. President and General Manager, Jim Waldrop, approached ROOMNET, looking for a state-of-the art guestoom entertainment system, in keeping with the hotel’s luxury-focussed service policy.
Recognising that the viewing habits of today’s guests have changed, Jim wished to implement a system that would allow guests to watch their own content on the in-room TV.
However, a potential problem presented itself in the form of theWort’s network infrastructure; this was based on coaxial technology, not the ethernet equivalent used to service most smart TV systems. And due to the age, structure and sensitive aesthetic of the building, the remodelling of the Wort’s network infrastructure was not an option…
ROOMNET recommended the implementation of G.hn (Gigabit home networking), a technology designed to deliver gigabit-level communication over existing wiring – in this case, the hotel’s coaxial network.
Negating the need for an expensive and disruptive fiber retrofit, G.hn provides ultra-fast and reliable network connectivity, supporting bandwidth heavy internet usage across multi-dwelling units, such as hotels.
Upon completion of the Wort’s new network infrastructure, ROOMNET flush-mounted customised Apple TV boxes to the back of each of the hotel’s 63TVs.
Each Apple TV had been pre-loaded with Wort specific content, including image and video collateral, hotel branding, a series of information pages and 143 channels, curated by genre.
